This program offers a comprehensive exploration of the cultures, histories, societies, and literatures of the Spanish-speaking world. Students will develop advanced language skills in Spanish, alongside in-depth knowledge of the diverse regions and communities that make up the Hispanic world. The program emphasizes the development of critical thinking, analytical skills, intercultural competence, and a deep understanding of the historical and contemporary issues facing Hispanic societies, preparing students for careers in various sectors that require strong communication, cultural awareness, and language skills. Co-op optional: up to 4 terms of paid work experience.

(Career options are highly dependent on chosen specializations and further study/experience within Hispanic studies. Potential paths include but are not limited to:) Translator, Interpreter, Teacher (Spanish/related field), Journalist, International Development Worker, Cultural Consultant, (Potentially roles in related education, media, government, non-profit organizations, business, and other sectors where strong intercultural communication, language skills, and analytical abilities are valued)
