Faculty: Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies. This 4-year full-time Bachelor of Arts (BA) with Honours degree provides a unique interdisciplinary approach to understanding human experience by combining psychological factors with a deep dive into psychoanalytic theory and its application to social and cultural phenomena. You will explore how unconscious processes influence emotions, behaviours, and relationships in everyday life, studying the pioneering works of Freud, Jung, and Lacan. The course aims to provide a secure knowledge of different psychosocial and psychoanalytic schools of thought and the means to apply them critically to a wide variety of cultural contexts, individuals, relationships, and organizations. Teaching emphasizes small seminars and group discussions, and the program is taught by internationally recognized experts who are often leading researchers and clinicians in their fields, offering a blend of academic and clinical perspectives. The included year abroad, typically taken in the third year, allows students to broaden their academic and cultural horizons, experience a different learning environment, and develop invaluable global perspectives and intercultural communication skills. This program does NOT provide British Psychological Society (BPS) accreditation for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC).
