Faculty: Faculty of Life Sciences, School of Psychological Science. This British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited three-year full-time Bachelor of Science (Hons) program provides rigorous training in the theories and methods of contemporary psychological science. The curriculum covers the core areas of psychology, including social, cognitive, developmental, biological, and individual differences psychology, as well as essential research design and data analysis skills. Students will learn how to design research studies and analyze data to provide valid answers to meaningful psychological questions. Teaching is delivered by internationally renowned academics through various methods, including lectures, seminars, tutorials, laboratories, group work, and supervision. The School of Psychological Science offers state-of-the-art facilities, including electroencephalography (EEG) recording, eye tracking, sleep labs, and a dedicated virtual reality environment, supporting hands-on experimental work. In their final year, students undertake a substantial piece of original, empirical psychological research. The program also offers opportunities for students to participate in faculty research projects (e.g., investigating mental health, learning, or brain function) and potentially study overseas. Graduates with a minimum 2:2 honours and successful completion of the final project are eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the BPS, a vital first step for professional psychology careers.
