Faculty: Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, School for Policy Studies. This Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree combines the interdisciplinary study of social policy with a specialism in criminology. You will critically analyse contemporary social issues related to human wellbeing, inequality, disadvantage, and crime, exploring real-world challenges in a global context. The criminology component focuses on understanding the nature, extent, and causes of crime, justice, social harm, and deviance in national and international contexts, as well as examining policy responses to them. The program offers a critical and informed understanding of crime and the criminal justice system within a broader framework of social policy and related social sciences. You will develop strong analytical, research (both qualitative and quantitative), and critical thinking skills, preparing you to understand and address complex societal challenges related to crime and social justice.
