This joint honours program combines the study of the history of art with Scottish literature. Students will develop expertise in visual analysis, critical theory, art historical methodologies, literary analysis, and the study of various Scottish literary genres and periods. The program emphasizes the development of research skills, analytical skills, critical thinking, visual literacy, literary interpretation skills, and a sophisticated understanding of both art historical trends and Scottish literary trends, preparing students for careers that require a blend of art historical and Scottish literary expertise. Note: In Scotland, a Master of Arts (MA) is an undergraduate degree.
