In the pre-honours years (Years 1 & 2), core modules typically include "Introduction to Politics," "Introduction to International Relations," "History of Political Thought," and "Introduction to Comparative Politics." The Honours program aims to provide a rigorous and comprehensive understanding of power, governance, and decision-making within and among countries and states. Students develop sophisticated analytical, critical thinking, research, and communication skills through a blend of lectures, classroom discussions, and independent study, culminating in a significant research component.
Career options for graduates of this highly regarded Honours program are extensive across various sectors, including government (civil service, diplomatic service), international organizations (e.g., UN, EU), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), policy analysis, research (think tanks, academia), journalism, public relations, and business (particularly in areas requiring political acumen or international understanding).
