This four-year Master of Pharmacy (Honours) program, offered by the School of Pharmacy, provides the comprehensive education and training required to become a registered pharmacist in the UK. The curriculum integrates pharmaceutical science with professional practice, covering topics such as pharmacology, pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, pharmacy law and ethics, and clinical pharmacy. A significant portion of the program involves experiential learning and placements in various pharmacy settings. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Career options for graduates with an MPharm (Hons) are primarily as registered pharmacists working in community pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry, general practice, and other healthcare settings. Pharmacists are responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient counseling, managing drug therapies, and ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines.
